Terms of service
Version 1.0 · published April 2026
By using Ontario Virtual Pharmacist, you agree to the terms below. These terms may be updated from time to time; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
The service
Ontario Virtual Pharmacist is a marketplace platform that connects Ontario residents with Ontario-licensed pharmacists for virtual consultations covering a defined list of 19 minor ailments authorized by the Ontario College of Pharmacists. We do not ourselves provide clinical services or dispense medications. Consultations are delivered by independent Ontario-licensed pharmacists, and prescriptions are dispensed by participating Ontario-accredited pharmacies (see the partner directory). We do not provide emergency care or care for conditions outside the minor ailments scope.
Eligibility
You must be a resident of Ontario with a valid Ontario health card (OHIP). You must provide accurate health information to the best of your knowledge. The pharmacist has the right to decline to prescribe and refer you elsewhere at their clinical discretion.
Not a substitute for a doctor
Ontario Virtual Pharmacist is not a replacement for a family doctor or a walk-in clinic. If you have a medical emergency, call 911. For non-urgent health advice, call Health Connect Ontario at 811.
Cost
The pharmacist minor-ailments assessment is funded by Ontario's Ministry of Health when you present a valid Ontario health card — it is not paid for under the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) program (ODB covers medications, not the consult). You will not be charged for the consultation. Most prescribed medications are covered by ODB when applicable; if a specific medication isn't covered, we'll tell you the cost before dispensing and you can decline at no charge.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ontario Virtual Pharmacist's aggregate liability is limited to any fees you paid in the preceding twelve months. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
